The Mage Wastes cover a vast swath of land known as The Neutral Zone. The kingdoms on either side are effectively cut off from each other. The Wastes themselves are a mystery. Created during the Mage War, so much magic was infused into one area that it took on a life of it's own. Spells run rampant across the land, some are mere illusions while others are dangerous and even deadly. Traversing the Wastes is nearly impossible, and the only true way to cross is by chartering an airship over them or traveling months out of your way around them.
